Boys & Girls Harbor began as a summer camp, and today we continue to make children’s summers joyful, fun, and rich with creativity, learning, and making new friends.
School-age students make the Harbor their second home five days a week, eight hours a day for seven weeks every summer. Arts, crafts, sports, music, and dance are combined with trips to nearby recreational, educational, and cultural venues. We make sure the summers are fun, but we also know that most students experience learning loss during this vacation time. To ensure that Harbor students go back to school refreshed and ready, every schedule includes creative and journal writing, vocabulary, math and strategy games, peer groups, neighborhood walks, and community service.
Summer on Stage is our performing arts summer camp. For five weeks, a group of 50 middle and high school students immerse themselves in morning music, dance, and acting classes and afternoon rehearsals, all to prepare for a musical theater production. The hard work and the discipline is rewarded with weekly cultural and recreational trips, and a final culminating performance for family, friends, and members of the community.
